Privacy policy · Rev. 2026.1
Privacy policy
This policy explains what information TrustTractor handles, why we use it, when it becomes public, and the choices available to you.
01
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate and protect the register, including:
- Account and contact information, such as your name, email address, and sign-in details.
- Review information, including your rating, written review, transaction evidence, dates, and any correspondence with moderators.
- Dealer verification information, including business records, licensing, ownership disclosures, insurance evidence, and inspection findings.
- Technical information, such as IP address, device and browser details, request logs, and security events generated when you use the site.
02
How we use information
- To create and secure accounts and provide requested site features.
- To authenticate reviews and moderate submissions before publication.
- To conduct dealer audits, issue certificates, and maintain the verified register.
- To investigate reports, prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and protect the service.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the site.
03
What becomes public
Approved reviews are public and may include the reviewer name you provide, rating, review text, publication date, and dealer reply. We do not publish the transaction evidence used to verify your review.
Dealer records may publish the company name, trading address, telephone number, website, licence and certificate details, verification date, audit outcome, and public reviews.
06
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as it is needed to operate the register, resolve disputes, maintain audit history, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Retention can differ by record type; review evidence may be retained after a public review is removed when needed to document a moderation decision.
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
07
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account, or object to certain uses. Some information may need to be retained when required for security, audit integrity, dispute resolution, or law.
To make a request, use the guidance in Contact and privacy requests. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.
08
Children, changes, and questions
TrustTractor is intended for adults researching or reviewing dealer transactions. It is not directed to children.
We may update this policy as the service changes. The revision marker at the top identifies the current version. For questions, see how to contact us.
