The verification standard · Rev. 2026.1

How verification works

TrustTractor takes no commission on any sale and dealers cannot buy a record. Dealers pay a flat audit fee that covers the inspector's time, and a failed check is not refundable into a pass.

01

The four checks

A dealer clears all four or is not listed. There is no partial badge and no paid placement.

  • State dealer licence pulled directly from the issuing authority and matched to the trading name.
  • Business registration and tax ID confirmed to resolve to the same legal entity as the licence.
  • Unannounced on-site inspection of the lot or workshop, with photographs and a stock count.
  • Liability insurance validated with the carrier, plus a five-year review of state complaint filings.

02

Review policy

Reviews are only published when we can tie them to a real transaction.

  • Each review is matched against a purchase order, invoice, or service ticket before publication.
  • Dealers cannot delete, reorder, or hide reviews, and they cannot pay to suppress a low rating.
  • Dealers may post one public reply per review; replies are never used to alter the score.
  • Incentivised or solicited reviews are removed and count against the next re-audit.

03

Annual re-audit

A badge is a statement about the present, not a trophy from the past.

  • Every verification expires twelve months after the date shown on the badge.
  • Re-audits repeat the full four-check process, including a fresh site visit.
  • A lapsed or failed re-audit removes the listing the same day rather than downgrading it.
  • The badge always displays both the original verification date and the most recent audit date.

04

Reporting a listing

If a verified dealer falls short of what the badge implies, tell us.

  • Reports are reviewed within two business days by an inspector who was not on the original audit.
  • A credible report triggers an immediate out-of-cycle re-audit at the dealer’s expense.
  • Reporters are never identified to the dealer.

Apply for verification

Dealers of tractors, farm equipment, RVs, cars, and trucks can request an audit. Expect roughly three weeks from application to site visit.
