Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about dealer verification, customer reviews, ratings, reports, and the limits of what the TrustTractor mark represents.
01
For buyers
What does “verified” mean?
It means the dealer cleared all 16 checks across 4 audit categories as of the verification date printed on its certificate. It is a time-bound record, not a guarantee of future conduct or of any individual machine. See the full verification standard.
What are the 16 checks?
They cover identity and legal standing, licensing and premises, title and inventory, and insurance and conduct. Every check must clear; there is no partial badge. The exact checklist is published under the checks.
Why does a company say “audit record pending”?
It is listed, but no completed audit has been recorded against it, so no certificate has been issued and it carries no verification date or certificate number. Treat a pending record as unverified: its contact details and reviews come from the review hub, not from our checks.
Should I still inspect a machine before buying?
Yes. TrustTractor verifies the dealer, not every machine it offers. Confirm identity and title, inspect the equipment, review service records, and use a secure payment method before completing a transaction.
How often is a dealer checked again?
Verification expires twelve months after the date shown. A re-audit repeats the full process, including a fresh site visit. A failed or lapsed re-audit removes the listing.
02
Reviews and ratings
How is a customer review verified?
A review must be tied to a real transaction using evidence such as a purchase order, invoice, or service ticket. Evidence is reviewed privately and is not published with the review.
How is the star rating calculated?
The displayed average uses only approved customer posts marked by the review hub as rating-bearing reviews. Questions and follow-up replies do not affect the score, even if the hub stores an internal numeric value for them.
Why was a review rejected or removed?
Common reasons include missing transaction evidence, impersonation, incentives, duplicate submissions, irrelevant content, or statements that cannot be supported. A review may also be removed when new evidence shows it was not genuine.
Can a dealer change or delete a bad review?
No. Dealers cannot pay to suppress, reorder, edit, or delete a review. They may publish one reply so readers can see both sides of the transaction.
03
Dealers and the register
Can a dealer pay to be marked verified?
No. A flat audit fee may cover inspection work, but it does not buy a pass, favourable placement, or control over reviews. A failed check is not refundable into a verified result.
How can a dealer apply?
Review the verification process first. The register accepts dealers of tractors, farm equipment, RVs, cars, and trucks. Application instructions are listed under apply for verification.
Where can I see verified companies?
The company directory contains every current record. A company page shows its verification date, certificate number, completed checks, contact details, and approved customer reviews.
04
Reports and contact
How do I report a concern about a listed dealer?
Use the process under reporting a listing. A credible concern can trigger an out-of-cycle re-audit by an inspector who was not on the original audit.
How do I ask a privacy or account question?
Sign in and use your account's support route when available. If you cannot access your account, submit the request through the reporting route and identify it as a privacy or account request. We may verify your identity before changing or releasing account data. Read the privacy policy for details.
Where are the rules for using TrustTractor?
The terms of use explain account responsibilities, review rules, verification limitations, acceptable use, and the limits of TrustTractor's role in dealer transactions.
